
So it's officially been half a year since I've moved here. Behold some more documented findings, just as
before:
- it's okay to laugh hysterically when people tell you that iPlayer is just as good as Hulu
- when there's a tube strike, don't assume that buses will be working better than normal (or at all)
- when you see riot police creating a blockade, don't walk over and ask them what the problem is - you will get hurt
- those Boris bikes didn't turn out to be very practical during the winter (or on mornings and evenings), at least for now
- always carry an umbrella
- now I'm starting to plan personal meetings weeks in advance
- flights to Bucharest around the holidays are just as expensive as those to NY
- UK prices for any US products (from MacBooks to Timberlands) are absolutely ludicrous
And I don't really agree with
this article - I think it's completely biased. London is still much closer to the concept of a 'world city' than NY has ever been...
