'...the science of opening your mouth and putting your foot in it, a science which I have practised for a good many years...’ - as Prince Phillip once described himself.

As he's turning 90, The Daily Mail has put together a list of his best (or perhaps worst) politically incorrect comments. Brilliant.

My favourites:
  • ‘You look like you’re ready for bed!’ To the President of Nigeria, who was wearing traditional robes.
  • ‘If you stay here much longer, you will go home with slitty eyes.’ To a British student on a visit to China in 1986.
  • ‘There’s a lot of your family in tonight.’ After noticing business leader Atul Patel’s name badge during a Buckingham Palace reception for 400 influential British Indians in 2009.

Behind the Bytes

In Behind The Bytes, we peddle completely fictitious short documentaries, looking at the scandalous lives of video game characters, a la the sensationalist nonsense of VH1's Behind The Music. We offer a fresh, and potentially libellous take on the video game characters that we all love, or, in Tails’ case, barely notice.

Amazing project - looking forward to the next ones! They're also on Twitter here.

What to get your Facebook-obsessed friends

Media_http4bpblogspot_thxuo

Here's an idea for the perfect gift for that one friend who's on Facebook about 7 hours a day: Facebook Chocolates.

"In some ways, the [Facebook] phenomenon is linked to mass consumption in proposing disposable and exchangeable relationships. To respond to this phenomenon, Audrey Wells has imagined those little chocolate squares packed randomly with Facebook’s portraits and their personal profile. Like the famous social network, when you buy this chocolate "Facebouffe" you do not know who it will matter but you can fill this obsessive curiosity to meet all the characters more virtual than real."

You can't place an order just yet, but I'd keep an eye out for them.

By the way, welcome!

Yes, welcome to one of my several attempts to actually maintain a personal blog. For the record, I've tried it before here, here and here (in chronological order) and failed miserably. So those will all be redirected here.

As for the general direction of this blog - well, for starters, I believe that the tagline in the header is quite self-explanatory. :) Besides that, every now and then I'll be jotting down bits and pieces of my what's-sure-to-be-amusing upcoming adventure.

Stay tuned, folks!

Oh and the funky item in the photo is the Unlock Doormat from Meninos.
